Video Conferencing at New Headquarters

The escalating cost of petrol and the Estate’s efforts to keep their carbon footprint to a minimum are just two of many good reasons that Clinton Devon Estates has installed state-of-the-art video conferencing facilities in their magnificent new boardroom.

Speaking on behalf of the Video Conferencing supplier, mvision, Doron Youngerwood explained that Harvard Business Research had concluded that 65 per cent of communication is visual. Video conferencing permits this – even for a reasonably large number of people – while eliminating the costs involved in the participants’ time and transport needed for travelling to a single venue for a face-to-face meeting. And when you consider that the AA calculated that the average London commuter spends five years of their working lives in traffic, this constitutes a huge saving, especially in the long term.

“The facilities are often used for small ‘meetings’ between two locations, but the larger screens in the boardroom can be split into as many as 10 layouts for meetings with numerous locations,” he stated.

“The great advantage is that the people involved in the meeting can be in any number of locations – including overseas. This means that project teams (some of whom may be working from home several days a week) can hold ‘meetings’ whenever necessary, without having to travel. And whilst video conferencing used to be expensive and complex, it is now readily available for even the smallest organisations. For those individuals without video systems, they can participate using a webcam or a 3G mobile phone.”

Mr Youngerwood explained that mvision provides the video system, a connection (using mvision’s video network) and a host of features & services (including free video calls) all for a fixed monthly fee.

Mr Youngerwood stated that video conferencing runs independently of Clinton Devon’s network using separate bandwidth and connectivity, thereby eliminating any technical issues that could potentially arise. So the video and audio quality is fantastic.
