New units designed to support economic growth in Exmouth and East Devon are being unveiled at the Liverton Business Park.

The Harpford Units have just been completed and all six are now ready to welcome new occupiers.

Exmouth’s Liverton Business Park is already home to a wide range of local, regional and national businesses. Among the newest arrivals are The Range and Home Bargains, which have created dozens of jobs between them.

Leigh Rix, Head of Property and Land at Clinton Devon Estates, said: “The arrival of such well-known names here is a clear sign of confidence in the future of Liverton Business Park.

“These two stores, which have proven to be highly attractive to shoppers from Exmouth and beyond, join a host of companies large and small, from local high-tech firms to national High Street names.

“To allow more companies to take advantage of all that Liverton has to offer in terms of footfall and facilities, we have invested in the Harpford Units which provide flexible accommodation for a range of commercial uses.

“They are particularly suitable for firms who may want trade counters, storage or for light industry.”

Four of the units are 1,250 sq ft (116m²) each and two are 2,500 sq ft (232m²) each, with roller doors and an option for a counter and mezzanine floor.

The units will be formally opened by Lord Clinton on Tuesday, September 20, following which there will be an ‘Open House’ event from 10.30am to 12.30pm for local businesses interested in moving to Liverton to visit the new development.

The business park opened in the 1990s to serve Exmouth and East Devon and in recent years has been expanded in order to alleviate the shortage of serviced employment space in the town.

In 2013 a new five-hectare site to the north of the park opened, offering purpose-built space for light industry, storage and distribution.

Mr Rix added: “Liverton is in an excellent location for businesses, less than two miles from Exmouth town centre and railway station, and only eight miles from the M5. Its continued expansion, and its ability to attract and retain such a wide range of companies, is helping to sustain hundreds of jobs and making a major contribution to the economy of the area.”
