Ribbon cutting ceremony marks opening of new business opportunities in Exmouth

Lord Clinton from Clinton Devon Estates and Exmouth Mayor, Councillor Brian Cole, cut a green ribbon to mark the opening of the Harpford Units in front of guests from the town, district, county and city councils as well as prospective tenants and property agents from Harrison Lavers and Potburys and Stratton and Creber.

Completed just a week ago, all of the Harpford Units are now available to welcome their first tenants.

Exmouth’s Liverton Business Park is already home to a wide range of local, regional and national businesses. Among the newest arrivals are The Range and Home Bargains, which have created dozens of jobs between them.

Leigh Rix, Head of Property and Land at Clinton Devon Estates said: “Liverton Business Park is a prime business location in Exmouth, as demonstrated by the arrival of such well-known stores.

“We have invested in the development of the Harpford Units to create important new employment space for growing businesses in Exmouth. Not only will they benefit from existing footfall but the park itself offers a high quality environment in a location that’s very accessible to residents of both Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

“We’re pleased to say that we’re about to take reservations on two of the six Harpford Units. Over the past few weeks we have received a huge amount of positive interest from local companies looking to expand.”

Four of the new units are 1,250 sq ft (116m2) and two are 2,500 sq ft (232m2) with roller doors, ample parking and an option for a counter and mezzanine floor.

The business park opened in the 1990s to serve Exmouth and East Devon and in recent years has been expanded in order to alleviate the shortage of serviced employment space in the town.

In 2013 a new five-hectare site to the north of the park opened, offering purpose-built space for light industry, storage and distribution.
